Army Receives Over 7000 Repentant Boko Haram and ISWAP Members in 1 Week

The Nigerian Army has received over 7000 repentant members of Boko Haram and the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The army in an address on Wednesday by Major General Christopher Musa, Theartre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) reports that the terrorists surrendered in the past 1 week.

Musa said that the army’s consistent onslaught on ISWAP and Boko Haram continues to compel them to lay down their arms.

According to him, “Thousands of insurgents comprising of combatants, non combatants, foot soldiers alongside their families, continued to lay down their arms in different parts of Borno”, he noted.

The bandits and their families are to be profiled by the Army and others before they undergo rehabilitation processes.

Maj Gen Musa insisted that the military and other security agencies will continue to devise and implement strategies to end terrorism.

So far, about 30,000 insurgents and their families have surrendered in the last nine months.

Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) was launched in April 30, 2021. It was formerly known as Operation Lafiya Dole.
