Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor better known as Rema, has revealed why he abandoned his admission to the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Bowen University has seized the occasion of the prolonged ASUU strike to lure popular singer, Divine Ikubor, aka Rema over as he threatened to dump UNILAG following the prolonged ASUU strike.

On its part, the University of Lagos (Unilag) reacted to the call by the popular musician, for an end to the industrial action embarked upon by ASUU.

REMA@heisrema had earlier made a tweet calling on his University to end the strike.

He wrote: “ASUU, since dem give me admission I neva start school o, e don do nau!”

Seeing it as an opportunity to advertise their institution, Bowen University, a private academic institution, tweeted: “ASUU can’t delay you if you’re enrolled in Bowen University.”

Rema replied, telling Unilag that another school is “toasting him.”

Replying to Rema’s tweet, UNILAG wrote: “Hmm… Rema dear, UNILAG has chosen you o, Hmm… so don’t let anybody come dey change your mind o… Rema no dey vex for us o.”

Rema responded: “Awww Unilag end the strike or I will go ooo, we want to go back to school pls the youths are not happy!”

Unilag then wrote back to Rema: “Baby calm down.”
