The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar today, surprised the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on the occasion of his birthday.
Wike, who was also a former presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), turned 55 today, December 13, 2022.
The flag bearer of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar despite his differences with Wike celebrated him on his birthday anniversary.
Governor Wike and the former Vice President of Nigeria have not been on good terms over Northern dominance in key positions in the party.
The Rivers Governor and his allies identified as the G-5 in their demand to support Atiku’s presidential ambition have called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu.
The aggrieved Governors called on the party leadership to replace Ayu with a southerner ahead of the 2023 general elections.
On his part, Ayu has stood his ground, promising to remain in office despite the demands of the G-5.
Despite the political rift and the seeming massive losses to his party, took to his Twitter account on Tuesday to congratulate Wike.
The PDP presidential flag bearer on his social media space posted a photograph of Wike with the caption: “Many Happy Returns.”
The former Vice President also wrote a prayer for the Rivers State Governor, “As you turn 55 today, I pray that all lines fall in pleasant places for you. Enjoy your special day. -AA.”
