The Lagos the Police Command has concluded autopsy on the body of 12-year-old Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni who is alleged to have been killed during a school cult group initiation.

The Punch said that the corpse has also been released to his family for burial after an investigation into the actual cause of death.

The Lagos State police public relations officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu made this known on Friday

The report has however, not been released as at the time of this report.

The PPRO sad that, “Sylvester Oromoni: autopsy done. (The) result is being awaited. Corpse (was) released to (the) family for burial. Investigation ongoing.”

The late student is said to have been attacked by “some of his senior colleagues” for refusing to join their cult group.

Sylvester’s cousin, Perrison Oromoni, broke the news of his death to the public narrating how he died and calling out the names of his alleged killers.

Perrie said the school called the deceased’s father claiming that his son sustained injuries while playing football in the school.

Over 100 signatures were received in a petition domiciled in the change.org platform demanding the arrest of the said assailants and their prompt prosecution.

No fewer than 5 persons have been interrogated by officers by the state police command in connection with the death.

In another development, Falana & Falana chambers, lawyers to the Oromoni family, in a letter signed by Taiwo Olawanle has called for an investigation into the comment made by Kemi Olunloyo.

The lawyers say that the comments has exacerbated the pains of the deceased’s parents and family.

They therefore asked the police to invite the controversial journalist to explain her “false information” and be charged to court if she cannot substantiate the comment.
