The UK government ban of sex among people from different households is to take effect soon.
The ban seeks to further curb the spread of #COVID19. The directive is among several others that seek to enforce social distancing among residents. This is more so with people who do not exhibit the symptoms of the disease.
Prior to the new directive, only the person visiting with the aim of having sexual intercourse would have been in breach of the law. However, with the new measure being regularised by parliament, both individuals will be seen to contravene the law.
UK government however, cautions that the police must exercise discretion in ensuring compliance with the new measure. For instance, no cop is allowed to break into a suspect’s home with the sole purpose of effecting an arrest of such sex offenders.
Also banned is being inside a house with more than one person for no justifiable reason.
Besides the ban on sex among neighbours from different households, outdoor activities are also listed in the new directive.
Public gathering is completely banned with the exception of sports professionals, people attending funerals, vulnerable people fleeing violence, care givers and those whose jobs compel them to be outdoor. Those moving house are also permitted to be outdoors.
There has been an increase in cases of domestic violence during the lockdown so the government accommodates those fleeing threat to life.
People attending the funeral of a loved one are permitted to gather but must not stay overnight and must be close relatives of the deceased or a member of his household.
