Bandits Attack Church Harvest Ceremony, Kill Pastor, Abduct Wife

There are reports that a group of armed bandits have attacked the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA in Chibuka town, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The assailants killed the 37-year-old Pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Ibrahim.

The information was made available by the Secretary of the Minnia District of ECWA, Reverend Adamu Na’Allah in Minna.

Rev Na’Allah said that the murdered Pastor Ibrahim was in Chibuka to harvest some crops from his farm.

Ibrahim was transferred from Chibuka branch of the church and replaced by another Pastor. He only took the occasion of his visit to join his successor for the harvest ceremony of the church.

Na’Allah reports that just before the harvest ceremony began, the bandits stormed the clergy house but 2 of the pastors hid in the ceiling of the house.

Believing that the bandits had left, they decided to come down from the ceiling and Ibrahim led the way.

Unknown to them, the bandits were still lurking around. They immediately killed Pastor Ibrahim.

Five others found in the house were kidnapped including late Pastor Ibrahim’s wife.

The assailants have demanded N50 million for the release of the widow.

The same bandits are reported to have also kidnapped people in neighbouring Kuchi village but later released them except one.

Te detained villager was killed because the local vigilante uniform was found on him.

The bandits are reported to be demanding N1.2 million for the remaining victims.
