Nigerian actor and singer, Olubankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has broken his silence after a painful defeat at the just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.
Thaddeus Attah defeated Banky W, and Babajide, son of Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister of state for defence, at the polls.
Attah won with 24,075 votes, beating his counterparts, Mr Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) of the Peoples Democratic Party, who had 18,666 votes, and Mr Babajide Obanikoro of the APC, who had 16, 901 votes.
Since the shocking defeat, the outcome of the election has remained a subject of discussion online especially as many celebrities had envisaged Banky’s victory at the poll.
Speaking during a church service in a video shared on his Instagram page, the singer recalled how he had planned for a thanksgiving service with Pastor Blessed of WaterBroke Church.
According to him, he had thought the election was a walkover for him stressing he also started making plans on relocating to Abuja and setting up his office.
He noted that irrespective of the outcome of the election, he is still thankful to God with the assurance that God has better plans for him.
Banky W who is also married to co-actor, Adesua Etomi used the occasion to encourage everyone who has gone through disappointment and failure.
