Another young Nigerian female student, Barakat Bello is reported to have been raped and murdered, 1st May in her home in Akinyele area of Ibadan.
Reports say the 19-year old student of the Institute of Agriculture, Research and Training, Ibadan, was attacked right inside her parents’ house on Monday evening.
According to her father, Kasimu Elepo, no family member was at home when the assailants struck. However, Barakat Bello ‘s lifeless body was found behind their house in a pool of her own blood. It was discovered by her sister who returned from Quaranic lessons that evening. The corpse had deep machete wounds all over.
Elepo told newsmen that he got a phone call to return home immediately. The caller did not disclose the reason for the urgency. On getting home, he found his deceased daughter had been raped and murdered.
There have been protests on social media by concerned Nigerians who insist that the police must put an end to the ugly trend.
Barakat Bello raped and murdered and murdered just like Vera Omozuwa. Girls and women all over the country now live in fear.
