Following the success of the Big Brother Naija Season 4, Multichoice is is set to premiere season 5.
The reality TV show is adjudged the most viewed African TV show in recent years. Audition commenced yesterday 20th May and will run till Saturday, the 30th of June.
In view of the covid19 pandemic, registration and audition will run online.
According to the organisers, aspiring housemates are expected to post a 2-minute video of themselves saying why they should be chosen for the Big Brother Naija season 5 show.
To commence registration therefore, aspirants are expected to visit the Multichoice website to fill out the form. Each contestant is expected to have attained the age of 21 by June 1 2020, must be Nigerian and carry valid Nigerian Travel passports.
The organisers also advise that the registration and audition are free of charge and open to both male and female contestants.
Speaking about the reality TV show, the Multichoice Chief Executive Officer John Ugbe said that,
“Big Brother Naija has been widely regarded as Africa’s biggest entertainment exports, being the biggest showcase of Nigeria’s diversity outside of core Nollywood. Season 5 promises to be more adventurous, exciting and entertaining, and will undoubtedly be the biggest thing on African television in 2020.
Speaking further, Ugbe said that “the timing is also particularly important given the dominance of the covid19 pandemic. Auditions for the 5th edition will now hold online and viewers and stakeholders alike can rest assured knowing that global best practices, precautions and preventive measures will be followed throughout the show, even as we guarantee the premium entertainment BBNaija is renowned for.”
The caption for season 5 has not been revealed yet but season 4 Pepper Der Gang saw Mercy Eke emerge as winner with Mike Edwards as runner up.
