Edo State born billionaire, politician, philanthropist and business mogul, Captain Hosa Okunbo is dead.
Reports say he died in the early hours of Sunday, 8th August after a protracted battle with cancer.
Captain Okunbo sponsored the governorship ambition of Pastor Osagie Eze-Iyamu during the 2020 election.
He is said to have died in a London, United Kingdom hospital where he moved to in August 2020 to received needed medical care. The doctors had alerted him that he had less than 9 months to live.
The business mogul whose health had improved remarkably following treatments in London Germany was making arrangements to return to Nigeria next week.
His trip back was to attend the coronation of the new Olu of Warri, Tsola Emiko who is married to his daughter, Ivie.
Until his death, Captain Hosa Okunbo was the Chairman of Ocean Marine Solution Limited. He was aged 63 and is survived by wife and 11 children.
He was born in Benin City to the family of Reverend Robert Amos Okunbo, a clergyman, teacher and community leader. Read also:
