Some of the questions she fielded that endeared her to the hearts of the judges:
Question: How would you mend a polarised country ?
Branch: Restore trust in institutions like media and government
Question: What is your take about gun laws ?
Branch: My family owns guns but more people should learn how to use them safely before they get their permits.
The newly crowned Miss USA 2020, Asya Branch revealed in an interview that her father was incarcerated for 10 years.
According to her, his experience inspired her to advocate for the criminal justice system. She therefore met with President Donald Trump and some government officials in 2018.
The meeting discussed measures to help reintegrate former prisoners into the society.
Miss USA said in September that “I learnt a lot about myself, but at the same time, while sharing my story, and going through so much but not letting it stop me.
“I have been able to heal while also helping others find their way,” she said.
