The now famous Nigeria’s blue-eyed Kwara State woman, Risikat Azeez marries her husband again.
The Nikai (Muslim wedding) took place on Saturday, 5th of September at Alfa Ajijola-Anabi’s compound in Aiyegbami, Ilorin. In attendance were family, friends and fans of Risikat.
Blue-eyed Risikat became famous after an online user and student of the University of Ilorin shared her story across social media platforms. According to her, the woman had been abandoned by her husband and his family because she and her 2 children were blue-eyed.
The husband came under pressure by his family because the wife kept producing children with the unusual traits. All three were left hungry and living in absolute squalid conditions.
The Risikat’s’s story was shared widely within and outside Nigeria, drawing sympathy from high net worth individuals including current and past First Ladies of Kwara State. Generous donations were made out to her and she became a model and brand ambassador for some big brands.
She confirmed that indeed, her husband abandoned them, forcing her to fall back to her own family for upkeep. She was however, quick to maintain that she still loved her husband as she was sure he also loved her in return.
However, in an interview, Risikat’s husband denied abandoning them. Reports say they eventually reconciled and undertook to renew their vows and get married all over again.
The wedding was nothing short of glamorous with family, friends and fans struggling to take pictures with the couple.
