Bobrisky Reacts to Bill Criminalizing Cross-dressing

Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky has reacted to the bill seeking to ban cross-dressing in Nigeria.


Umar Muda,member of the House of Representatives, on Tuesday, 04 April 2022 presented before lawmakers in the lower chamber, a bill seeking to stop the likes of Bobrisky, James Brown, others who have been influenced by their lifestyle from cross-dressing.

The bill immediately passed the first reading, the same day, on the floor of the House on Tuesday.

With the proposed law, cross-dressers now risk 6 months in prison if passed.

The bill came as a result of the increasing fame and influence of popular social media entertainer, Bobrisky.

Bobrisky is born male and his birth name is Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju.

In separate interviews with journalists Chude Jideonwo and Adesuwa Onyenokwe, he said that his quest for fame, relevance and affluence made him go into cross-dressing.

His major media of influence have been social media apps like Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram.

In his reaction to the bill, the Bobrisky via the micro- blogging platform, Twitter listed all the things wrong with Nigeria.

In the words of the self-acclaimed male barbie, the Lawmakers should be quick in their decisions since cross-dressing amongst other things is the only major issue of concern the government needs to tackle at this time.

”The good thing about this bill is that: 1) it will finally solve Nigeria’s insecurity challenges 2) improve power supply 3) end ASUU strike 4) repair the negative impression foreigners have about Nigeria 5) cause the reduction of prices of items in the market be fast, please.”
