Body of Dr Megafu Nwando Chinelo, one of the victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train that was invaded by terrorists on Monday last week has arrived Lagos.
She is reported to have tweeted that she had been shot by the bandits and asked her friends to pray for her.
She tweeted: “I’m in the train. I have been shot please pray for me.”
While some social media users viewed her tweet as fake, others reacted with emotional wishes until it was finally confirmed that she passed away from the gunshot wounds she suffered.
She was a graduate of Medicine from the University of Port Harcourt and was said to have resigned her appointment at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna with plans of moving overseas the following Friday.
The Nigerian Dental Association@nigdental· was also thrown into mourning as th y announced her death in a tribute: *NIGERIAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION (NDA) MOURNS! The NDA President, *Dr. Kolawole Obagbemiro,* and all NDA members regret to announce and condemn the tragic death of our colleague *DrChineloMegafuNwando*, who died as a result of injuries sustained from gunshot attacks by suspected bandits to the Kaduna bound train she took from Abuja.
“We condemn the dastardly act and hope that the perpetrators will be brought to book while praying for the repose of our beloved departed. The NDA prays that God grants the families and loved ones of Dr Chinelo and other victims the fortitude to bear the huge loss while also praying for the speedy recovery of all those that sustained injuries.
“The NDA President has received the contact of the father of late Dr. Chinelo and a condolence will be arranged soon. May God bless our country, Nigeria and cleanse this country of all evil.

On Thursday evening, a family member announced the arrival of the young doctor’s remains in Lagos with footages of the plane conveying her: “Final journey to Lagos for our daughter, Dr. Chinelo Megafu aboard Arik Air. 07 /04/22.”
