Members of Boko Haram terrorist group are said have fled Niger State only to regroup in Nasarawa State
Reports their presence has contributed to the the increased security challenges.
The latest development was made known by the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule today, Friday, 22nd of January.
He made the revelation after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.
The governor said that the dreaded terrorists group were dislodged from their camp in Toto from where they relocated to and regrouped at the Nasarawa/Benue border.
Sule said that members of the Boko Haram terrorist group in his State belong to the Darussalem group who had been chased away from Niger State.
He added that since their migration to the state they have begun launching attacks and wrecking havoc on residents.
According to him, many were killed while at lest 900 were arrested following a joint security operation.
Those arrested confirmed their membership of the sect.
Governor Abdullahi Sule also revealed that his meeting with the President was to address insecurity challenges confronting his state as well as a possible federal government take-over of the Jiteta road which is the alternative route to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
