Ibrahim stated that Nigeria has spent 2.2 trillion dollars in fighting Boko Haram in the last 20 years. According to him, the Boko Haram crisis is a political issue that can be solved by socializing politically with critical stakeholders.

He said, ”I wrote my second Ph.D. book on Boko Haram. The issue is that Nigeria has spent 2.2 trillion dollars on Boko Haram in the last 20 years. Students that NDA schools as a lieutenants have become Major generals in Boko Haram and the War is still there. And so I ask this question, is the military a challenge to herself? No, Boko Haram is a political problem.

You have to look at political consideration. So you have to socialize politically to solve Boko Haram. The first thing Mr. President should do is to withdraw the Soldiers fighting Boko Haram in Sambisa and return them to the Barracks. Do you think Boko Haram will carry guns and be shooting themselves? When you use a conventional strategy to approach an unconventional war, you are going to fail. The military strategy isn’t the best.”
