A senior security official at the Ajiwe Police Station and during has told PUNCH that no one knows how officer Vandi got his hands on an AK-47.
He said that the officer who shot the Lagos-based lawyer, Bolanle Raheem on Sunday, Christmas Day has been interrogated by the DPO and other Senior Officers since Monday.
The security officer added the officer was not supposed to be part of the team on duty that morning and the gun he used to shoot the deceased lawyer was an AK-47.
The senior officer said that they don’t know how he got his hands on the sophisticated weapon as only a pistol was assigned to him.
He said, “He was not supposed to be part of the team that went out for duty that morning. Besides, we don’t know how he was in possession the gun. How did he get his hands on AK-47? Only a pistol was assigned to him”.
