Boris Johnson’s new baby boy was born this morning.
BBC reports that both mother and child are doing just fine. Johnson who recently recovered from the deadly coronavirus disease was present throughout the delivery process.
Carrie Symonds, Johnson’s fiancee had their baby at an NHS hospital in London. #Boris Johnson soon returned to Number 10 to continue to lead the battle against covid19.
Johnson is expected to take a short paternity leave later this year to be with his son.
It is uncertain if the child was delivered preterm or not. However, congratulatory messages have continued to pour in to the Johnson family from friends, governments, political allies and family.
Boris Johnson’s father, Stanley is reported as saying that he was “absolutely delighted” and “thrilled” by the birth of his grandson.
Number 10 Downing Street has once again praised the prowess of the medical team. According them: “The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS Maternity team.”
The queen of England has also sent in her private message of goodwill to the Johnsons. The Prime Minister is scheduled to have his weekly meeting with the Queen later today.
Symonds and Johnson got engaged late last year and announced that their baby would arrive early in the summer.
They are the only couple in modern British history to live together unmarried and have a baby in the process. Boris Johnson’s new baby will make it the 6th child of the 55-year old while Carrie, 32 has this as her very first.
