News just received say that armed men suspected to be robbers invaded the residences of 2 store aides to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Gambari and Abubakar Maikano.
People’s Gazette reports that the armed men penetrated the precinct of the Presidential Villa raising fears that the rising insecurity across the country was drawing closer to the elite.
The incident is said to have occurred on the 9th of May, prompting The Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari and Abubakar Maikano te admin officer to abandon their residences.
The reports say that “Their houses were robbed and the robbers packed money and other valuable assets from both houses.”
It was not immediately clear if valuable documents of state interest were carted away by the intruders, but both houses were thoroughly ransacked.
The reports further states that, “the robbers took away as much as possible from both places. What is more unfortunate is that no one has been arrested.”
Sources also say that Mr Gambari was given an official residence at the Defence House, but he has not been living there, preferring instead to live inside Aso Rock and be close to the President.
The Presidential Villa has been viewed as a highly fortified place but with bandits and criminals advancing into many areas of the country, it is assumed that anywhere can be accessed these days.
The latest daring attack may actually call the attention of relevant security agencies to take decisive action against rising insecurity in the land.
