Barrack Obama’s paternal grandmother, Sarah Onyango is dead.
Nairobi News reports reports that her daughter, Marsat Obama disclosed that she died at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisamu at 4:45am, today, Monday the 29th of March.
Sarah was admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning but gave up the ghost in the early hours of Monday at the age of 99.
Sarah is said to be a renowned teacher who received a UN Award in 2014 in recognition of her efforts in he education sector.
Obama’s friends and family across the world have sent in condolence messages eulogising the nonagenarian as an icon of family values.
Reports say that the family is making arrangements to have her buried today at the Muslim Cemetery in Kisumu in line with Muslim injuctions.
According to a relative, “We are trying to see whether we shall be able to bury her today and if not, we shall bury her tomorrow.
