A live broadcast on Channels TV shows that Prof Chukwuma Soludo has emerged the Governorship candidate for the November elections in Anambra State.
Former Central Bank Governor Soludo contested under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
He polled nearly all the votes cast in the open ballots adjust a very free and fare election. Precisely, Soludo polled a whooping 740 out of the 792 votes cast.
Earlier on Wednesday, a faction of APGA led by Chief Jude Okere announced the suspension of of Chukwuma Soludo for what it terms, anti-party activities.
The announcement was made in a briefing to journalists by the Ag National Publicity Secretary of the Okere-led faction, Okechukwu Chukwunyere in a decision he claims was made late on Tuesday night.
The former Central Bank governor has been a front-runner in the Anambra Governorship election.
Chukwunyere said that, “The NWC also applauded members of the party in Anambra State who thronged to the Ward Offices across 326 wards in the state to elect the 3-man ward delegates who would elect the Governorship candidate of the party on 1st July in line with the provisions of the Party Constitution, INEC guidelines and the electoral act.”

There are however, fears that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may technically rule out the All Progressives Alliance (APGA) from the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State if the party crisis persists.
