The National Examination Council, NECO, has announced the postponement of one if its practical examinations.
The examination initially scheduled for October, will now hold in November.
Head, Information and Public Relations Division, Mr Azeez Sani announced that Paper 1 Computer Studies Practical examination billed for Monday, 19th October, has been rescheduled to the 16th of November, 2020.
He said that the postponement is due to the ongoing #Endsars protests across the country.
Affected by the protest is vehicular traffic, particularly the entrance into Benin City, the Edo State capital that has been blocked by protesting youths.
Sani added that the truck conveying the exam materials has been held up for 2 days. Delivery to some states could therefore, not be effected.
According to him, “The examination of this paper will now hold on Monday, 16 November 2020, 10:00am – 1:00pm.
“This unforeseen incident has been caused by the #Endsars protest that blocked the free movement of transport at the city entrance gate, Benin.
“The Council wishes to assure all stakeholders and the general public that the affected examination materials have been retrieved intact and in the custody of NECO’s vault.
“While regretting any inconvenience this rescheduling may cause our esteemed stakeholders, the Council has however taken this decision in order to maintain the integrity and security of its examinations procedures for seamless conduct of the Council’s examination.”
