An aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force which was making its way into Niger State has crashed.
According to The Punch, the aircraft took off from Kaduna en route Minna, the Niger state capital when the incident occurred.
Details around the incident are still sketchy as of the time of filling this report but initial reports say that the MI-171 Helicopter was on a casualty evacuation mission when it went down near Chubuka village in Niger State.
The incident happened today, August 14, at about 1.00 pm after it departed Zungeru Primary
An official statement is however, still being awaiting from the Air Force spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
