President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as his Chief of Staff.
George Akume has also been chosen to serve as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The president also appointed Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy Chief of Staff.
President Tinubu made the announcement in a meeting with the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) on Friday.
Following days of intense speculation surrounding these key appointments, President Tinubu’s decision has finally been made public.
Gbajabiamila’s selection as Chief of Staff suggests that he will not be returning to his seat in the House of Representatives, despite his recent reelection.
