Fire is currently raging at Otedola Under Bridge where a petrol tanker explosion occurred this evening.
Ibrahim Farinloye, Acting Coordinator National Emergency Management Agency, Lagos Zonal office is already at the scene.
He reports that the incident happened at about 5:30 this evening.
NEMA, LASTMA and other first responders promptly reported at the scene to avert a major disaster.
Mr Farinloye added that the petrol tanker loaded with 44,000 litres of fuel collided with a haulage truck as well as a vehicle loaded with five family members.
According to him, an eye witness told him that that there was fire in one of the tyres of the petrol tanker, the haulage truck saw it and tried to alert the tanker driver.
They all lost control, resulting in multiple collision with all there vehicles cashing fire.Fortunately, all occupants of the 3 vehicles managed to escape before the massive explosion.
Vehicles and pedestrians could be speeding running away from the seen considering the number of lives that similar incidences have claimed on the same spot in the past.
Lagos residents lament that this is one too many, on the same spot.
