Senator Opeyemi Bamidele of Ekiti Central Senatorial District has suggested that President Muhammadu Buhari may not be aware of Nigeria’s Insecurity.
He aired his views today, 27the of April while contributing to a debate on the rising insecurity in the country.
The motion was sponsored by Senator Mohammed Sani Musa representing Niger East in the upper legislative chambers.
Boko Haram insurgents are reported to have sacked at least 2 local government areas in Niger state, displacing not less than 5,000 villagers. Boko Haram also and hoisting their flag at Shiroro local Government Area of Niger State.
Displaced residents were camped at the IBB primary school near the palace of the Emir of Minna where Governor Abubakar Bello visited to commiserate with them.
Senator Muhammed Sani called on the senate leadership to tackle the insecurity and many other social ills that have bedevilled the entire country.
Senator Bamidele on his part, called on the senate leadership meet with the president and other stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the menace.
In his words, “I’m not even convinced that Mr President is aware of everything that is happening. And if you (Lawan) are meeting with the Commander-in-Chief,all the service chiefs and allotter relevant people will be there.”
