Buhari Returns to Abuja after State Visit to Lagos

News - Women's Perspective

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after his state visit to Lagos where he commissioned 2 projects.

Before departing Lagos, to Abuja, President Buhari launched newly procured security equipment for security agencies in the State.

Reports say that the equipment were donated by the Lagos State Government. They include Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC), operational buses and vans, bulletproof vests, ballistic helmets, arms and ammunition etc.

Among those at the launch were Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Baba Alkali; Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu and the Iyaloja-General, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo.

Curiously, all bridges were rid of the usual tankers and trailers waiting to access the ports. This left Lagos wondering if clearing those roads and bridges could ever have been achievable.

Lagosians are hoping that the trailers remain permanently out of sight as they have caused security challenges for many years.

The articulated trucks also leave people wondering if the structures of the bridges have not been compromised considering they were not constructed to hold stationary vehicles indefinitely.
