President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf is set to become a monarch and the District Head of Kawasarawa in Daura, Katsina State.
He will be turbaned as Talban Daura by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, today, (Saturday) in Daura.
Among the dignitaries expected at the event are the Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, Senators Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf, Mohammed Sani Musa and Bello Mandiya.
President Buhari and the First Lady will not be at the coronation as they are currently in an ongoing summit in Turkey.
The Emir of Daura has said that Yusuf was given the title in appreciation of all that his father had done for his home town.
The monarch added that another reason was to prevent the young man from strolling around Abuja and Yola when the President’s tenure is over.
According to him, “We are giving him this title to reciprocate all the good things his father, President Muhammadu Buhari has done to Daura.
“Even if you don’t like Buhari, you know that Daura of today is different from what it was six years ago. So, to reciprocate this gesture, we gave him the title of Talban Daura, which he gave to his only son, Yusuf. This will prevent him from strolling around Yola (his mother’s hometown) and Abuja.
“From University of Transport Technology to Federal Polytechnic, to good roads networks and many other development projects, Daura is today better than some states in the country, development-wise.
“We have many sons in Daura who have excelled, but do not want to be associated with it, so Buhari stands among them.”
