A one-storey residential building located at 10 Moliki Street in the Mushin area of Lagos was this morning, gutted by fire.
Residents say the fire broke out at about 8:00am and engulfed the entire first floor.
Nosa Okunbor, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident and said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Okunbor also added that rescue operations were immediately activated to the scene.
However, at the time of this report, the entire first floor of the building had been razed, including the corrugated roofing.
Residents and neighbours were also seen salvaging as mush personal belongings as could be picked up.
