Calm Down T-Shirt Launches in Nigeria, Competes with International Brands

Barely 1 week after a 4-year old boy’s “Calm Down” video went viral, Aba clothing manufacturers have launched the T-shirt.

The Eastern Nigerian business men used the mime of Ore Bobo’s picture to mass-produce the t-shirts which now appear to be in high demand. The T-shirt is also selling online.

The quality of the material used is said to favourably compete with foreign brands, a skill for which the average Igbo man of the Eastern Nigeria extraction is known.

They are considered the Israelis or Japanese of Africa for their ingenuity in creating anything out of nothing.

The average Igbo man, just like the people of Asian decent are known to be able to create different grades of any item to make it affordable for everyone.

Indeed, long before the “Calm Down” video surfaced in Nigeria, “Calm Down” t-shirts have been on sale by big online brands like Amazon, Dazzle, Spreadshirt, Tee Public, Red Bubble, Etsy, Pinterest,"Calm Down" T-Shirt Stolen Shirts  etc. All the listed brands are online shops.

The online shops sell the t-shirst for between $20 and $25.

Calm Down was a theme for the last LGBTQ worldwide march where every member was asked to wear it.

In as much as Ore Bobo’s video has its negative implications, it is obvious that the little boy has become an international celebrity as his version of “Calm Down” would become Nigeria’s authentic international version.

Ore Bobo, according to his mother is known to dramatise every punishment he gets for misbehaving. Taken aback by the tendencies, she called in her sister to seek advise on how to handle him.

Unfortunately, the sister did not believe her until she made the video and posted it to the young boy’s auntie. Iya Oreanu then placed it on her own Instagram page.

The video went viral with many calling her attention to the fact that her son may graduate in crime knowing that an emotional plea would get him off the hook.

Other members of the public became emotional about the 4-year old’s plea to be forgiven, to the extent that the Governor of Lagos State invited both mother and child to the government house.
