A few hours after the former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), his campaign posters surfaced online.

The poster shows Peter Obi as running for president, with the former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as his running mate.

The posters are titled: “For Equity and Fairness 2023.”

Contrary to widely held views, Obi may be running under the platform of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, where Kwankwaso belongs.

With the posters making the rounds on social media, it is unclear if Peter Obi has officially joined NNPP.

The 2019 PDP Vice Presidential candidate, on Wednesday tendered his resignation letter at the PDP National Secretariat, through his campaign director, Doyin Okupe.

According to reports Obi’s exit came as the politician expressed fears he might be humiliated at the convention in Abuja.

In the resignation letter personally signed by him and addressed to the National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, Peter Obi said he has conveyed his resignation to the chairman of Agulu Ward 2, Anaocha LGA in Anambra.

He also informed the PDP Chairman of his withdrawal from the presidential race.

Peter Obi said: “It has been a great honour to contribute to nation-building efforts through our party. Unfortunately, recent developments within our party make it practically impossible to continue participating and making such constructive contributions.

“Our national challenges are deep-seated and require that we each make profound sacrifices towards reducing our country. My commitments to rescuing Nigeria remain firm, even if the route differs.”

Meanwhile, reactions have continued to trail his alliance with Rabiu Kwankwaso and the NNPP where the latter was fielded as the presidential candidate.

Qudus @Qdpaper2 Twitter politicians with Permutations and combinations Peter Obi and Kwankwanso. After PDP, is it APGA or NNPP. ?

@Richardmou90 @channelstv If I were Kwankwanso, I will swiftly grab Peter Obi and make a political deal. Make PO the Presidential candidate and get a very charismatic and deeply grassroot politician from the North East as VP. PO has a fair spread among youth and middle class on the street right now.
