The family of the late father of the Queen of Warri Kingdom, Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo popularly called Cappi Hosa brought the Ancient city of Benin to a standstill when they held his service of songs on Thursday.
The large family of 12 children, his brothers and widow held the funeral service at his G R A Benin City residence, where they celebrated a man whose life is said to be a light to millions across the world.
The family bond was infectious as guests watched the family hold hands in expression of their unity even in their time of grief.
The younger brother to Cappi Hosa, Kingsley Okunbo described the special bond he shared with his older sibling.
The first daughter and Queen of Warri Kingdom, Olori Ivie Atuwatse III, a Pastor by all standards, led the family with her sonorous voice with the rendition of “We are joint heirs of the Father. We are family. We are one” to reiterate their fathers strong family values.
The values were indeed palpable as the large family of 12 children gave one another unending sooting hugs, reassuring whispers and constant squeezing of hands.
The highlight of the event was a recorded documentary rendered by the late patriarch who spoke as if he had a premonition of the events that were to come.
With his rich baritone voice blaring through the speakers, he declared his love and appreciation in what could be described as valedictory message to his loved ones.
Officiating Minister was Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, an Edo State indigene and Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Lekki, Lagos.
