A close associate of the family has confirmed to Channels Television that the famous actor died on Saturday afternoon after he was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Evercare Hospital, Lekki a few days ago.

Aged 62, Mr Ibu died at the hospital, of cardiac arrest after he had a relapse about a week ago.

The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rolla has also confirmed the death of one of Africa’s best entertainers.

Last year, the actor underwent surgery to remove one of his legs after soliciting help and prayers from fans.
