The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has declared the Founder CEO of AbokiFX, Olumide Oniwinde Adedotun wanted.
This was made known by the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele while fielding questions from newsmen after Friday’s Monetary Policy Committee’s 2-day meeting in Abuja.
Emefiele vowed that the federal government will shut down the operations of AbokiFX, track down the founder and prosecute him.
He added that government will no longer condone the activities of illegal foreign exchange dealers with whom arms dealers source forex to conduct their illicit trade.
According to the CBN Governor, “I have given instructions to experts to go after his website and let it be clear that we will go after him because we can’t allow this to continue.
Reports say that the CBN has been investigating Adedotun and his company for “illegal foreign exchange transactions.”
The Governor called on the AbokiFX boss to submit himself to the CBN headquarters in Abuja accusing him of manipulating the forex market.
“That is the story of AbokiFX and I hear he’s making news on social media. I’m not on social media, but let him come and meet me in the Central Bank, let him come and show his face. Those who feel they want to support him to fight me, come out, let’s fight,” he said
The online forex platform was established in 2014 and is know to report on the foreign exchange market.
