Nigerian celebrates have reacted to the decision by Nollywood actor and music executive, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W to join the 2023 political race.
He stated that he would run for the House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party to represent the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
Banky stressed that in order to bring change to bear in the country’s leadership, there was the need to infiltrate major existing political parties to build a better Nigeria.
He has also remained in the forefront of those advocating that Nigerians get their PVCs and kick out corrupt politicians.
The entertainer made the declaration for his political ambition via his social media platforms. According to bankywellington “I know this is April Fool’s Day, but this is not a joke.
“We must engage with Nigeria where it is, not where we prefer for it to be. We must no longer be content to shout from the sidelines. We must get into the system to fix it.
“In 2019, we planted the seed. In 2023, by the grace of God, and with your support, we will win the seat. The time for just talking about our problems is over. It’s time to #TalkAndDo. I hope and pray that I can count on you. We move.
“Tomorrow we declare. And then we move. DM @thebworg if you’d like to join us tomorrow, we need as many people as possible. We need you. We must engage with Nigeria where it is, not where we prefer for it to be.
