Some political parties and names their candidates including Prof Chukwuma Soludo of APGA are missing from the list for the governorship elections released on Friday by INEC.
Also missing from the list is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and its candidate, Valentine Ozigbo.
However, the name of the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Andy Uba was found in the list.
Reports say that the decision to exclude the 2 candidates is in compliance with a court order in relation to the primaries of the political parties.
In the list, INEC declared a member of the House of Representatives, Chukwuma Michael Umeoji as the flag bearer for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The Commission’s decision was contained in a statement on Friday by the INEC Commissioner and Chairman (Information and Voter Education Committee), Festus Okoye after the Commission’s meeting which held in Abuja on Thursday.
He added that INEC would continue to act in compliance with the constitution, the laws establishing it as well as court orders.
The published list has 18 political parties and candidates all of whom would participate in the November 2020 election.
Festus Okoye said that the personal profile of all the candidates would be published in Anambra State INEC notice board in Awka.
