Churches have undertaken to drive the Permanent Voter’s Card registration compliance as they prevent entry to worshippers without PVC.
Videos are currently making the rounds of the moment worshippers arrived the entrance of some churches and the priests prevented many from entering.
They took time to explain to those who did not come with the cards, the reason why they were not allowed in.
The priests took time to explain that PVC registration is a government directive which every responsible citizen must comply with.
Worshippers who arrived the doors of the churches with the voters cards were made to raise them for all to see as they filed into the church auditoriums.
The Christian denomination particularly driving the initiative is the Catholic Church. Heading the Catholic Church is a voluntary venture where the priests, all of whom are celibate, do not gain monetary or material riches.
This is unlike other denominations where some of the heads or founders are often seen as using their positions to acquire enormous wealth for many generations after them. Church management and particularly Church earnings, which are largely enormous remain opaque.
It may be difficult for those denominations to successfully drive the PVC registration initiative because they may lose members and offerings from the day’s worship service.
