Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, son of the Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, Ango Abdullahi and a classmate of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo have spoken from the captivity.
They are appealing to the Federal Government and particularly, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President and Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rescue them.
They pleaded with the government and anyone that can help them to come to their aide as they are held in deplorable conditions.
They lamented that most of them had prior health conditions and have fallen sick with no doctor to treat them.
Osinbajo’s law school classmate identified as Gladys wept that she has fallen sick and she left a son who is a sickle cell patient at home the day they were kidnapped.
She cried that could not imagine the condition of her son since she was kidnapped over 60 days ago.
Terrorists attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on the 28th of March, 2022. They have since released several videos of the victims captured in the attack.
They attacked the train when it was less than 20 minutes to its destination.
Nine of the victims were killed while over 60 passengers were abducted and taken to an unknown location.
The terrorists in one of the videos threatened to kill the captives if the Federal Government fails to yield to its demand.
They demanded that the federal government release their children and some insurgent commanders in exchange for the train attack captives.
In the latest video, 8 of the victims (5 men and 3 women) appealed to the Federal Government to accede to the demands of terrorists.
While the men in the video knelt, the women sat on a mat with flies hovering around them.
A gunman who appeared in the video spoke in very good English asking the government to listen to the victims or abandon them.
The son of elder statesman, Ango Abdullahi Sadiq while speaking said, “We are appealing to the federal government to once again come to our aid. We have been here for 62 days. Most of us here are sick and we are not in good condition and every day the situation deteriorates. We are appealing to the federal government to please come to our aid before we start losing our lives.”
Another victim, who identified herself as a classmate of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at Law School, broke down in tears, saying she was disturbed by the plight of her son whom she said is a “sickler”.
“My name is Gladys….I’m pleading particularly to professor Yemi Osinbajo who was my classmate at 78/79 law school. You are a grandfather and a father; come to our aid because we have been here for 62 days and I have a son who is a sickler; I don’t know his condition now.
“I am pleading that the federal government and Rotimi Amaechi who is the minister of transportation to please come to our assistance. I’m pleading. We are all sick. Right now I’m even sick too. But for my son who is a sickler, I don’t know his condition. I am appealing to the federal government.”
