Closure of Aso Rock Villa Chapel: Oluremi Tinubu Issues Statement

News - Women's Perspective

The Office of the first lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has issued a statement debunking the rumoured closure of the Aso Villa Chapel.

The first lady’s office, on Monday, noted that the reports are fake news.

Some of the rumours:

@VeronicaaNaomi: “A so called Pastor of Redeemed, Jezebel Remi Tinubu, locked Aso Rock Chapel because, they did not support her husband during the Presidential election-Wow! Jezebel Remi, is an impudent, shameless, and morally unrestrained woman. You and your husband time are up! We will take our stolen mandate back!!! @PastorEAAdeboye @officialABAT

Jeremiah Baba Adamu: “May God have mercy on Remi Tinubu & her husband & forgive their sins for locking down the House of God in Aso Rock Villa in Jesus name. No one fights God and live to tell the story. Ask Nebuchadnezzar & his son Belshazzar. Open Aso Rock Villa Chapel now for worshippers of Jesus.”

In her reaction, the wife of the president also explained why the Aso Villa Chapel chapel is yet to have a new Chaplain after the exit of the last one.

“Our attention has been drawn to a story on social media about the purported closure of the AsoRock Chapel by the first lady; we wish to state categorically that this is a fabrication and a false representation of the true situation.

“The first lady at no time gave such directive that the chapel be shut nor asked for the keys to be handed over to her.

“Presently, there are weekly fellowships going on at the chapel including mid week fellowship on Tuesdays, however, Mr President is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel after the exit of the last Chaplain as he only reserves the right to appoint a chaplain.’’
