The youth corper seen in a viral video being assaulted by a female soldier in Calabar, Cross River State has been redeployed to Lagos.
She was hurried out of Calabar on Friday night, September 24 following public outcry on the inhuman treatment meted out to her.
The viral video posted by human rights activist, Agba Jalingo showed the female soldier, Lt Chika Anele pouring dirty water from a mopping bucket on Ifeyinwa Ezeiruaku’s head, drenching her entire body.
She dealt the less than expected injustice to the hapless corper after forcing her to kneel down in front of her and then hitting her on the head with the bailer in her hand.
The Nigerian army is reported to have condemned the action of the lieutenant saying she will be tried for her unprofessional conduct.
Ifeyinwa was redeployed to Lagos last night, a move many applauded, citing safety concerns. She arrived the airport and spoke about the inhuman experience with journalists.
According to her, she was not intimidated or harassed by other military officers, rather they empathised with her and condemned their colleague.
She added that the incident actually left her humiliated and embarrassed but that she is glad to be related to Lagos.
The corper is said to have dared argue with the female soldier who felt slighted by her boldness. She then undertook to humiliate her and put her in her place.
