The Federal Government has postponed the rollout date for the earlier scheduled phase 2 vaccinations of Covid19 around the country.
The announcement was made on Sunday by the Director of Press, Presidential Steering Committee on Covid19, Willie Bassey.
He said that the rollout date earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 10th August 2021 was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The statement was however, silent on a new date for the rollout of the second round of vaccinations.
According to him, “This is to announce the postponement of the national flag-off of phase 2 vaccination programme earlier scheduled for Tuesday this week due to unforeseen circumstances.
The vaccines were donated by the United States of America
The vaccines were donated by the United States government to Nigeria and delivered through the COVAX facility on the 2nd of August, 2021.
COVAX is a United Nations-backed effort that promises access to vaccines for up to 20% of participating countries’ populations.
