Daddy Freeze has sobered up and apologised to Bishop David Oyedepo following vehement backlashes from the pentecostal clergy.
He had rudely and verbally called out Bishop Oyedepo of Winners Chapel for advising women to submit to their husbands saying that the elder preacher’s advise was a misquote of the scriptures.
As a result of the insults, Ifedayo Olarinde also known as Daddy Freeze incurred the wrath of notable preachers like Dr Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Senior Pastor and Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie among others.
Daddy Freeze who is the founder of Free Nation in Christ and Convener of the Sheeple Movement admitted that he actually was disrespectful to Bishop Oyedepo. He also added added that it happened over 2 years ago but it only went viral a few days ago.
In a video posted today, an obviously sober Daddy Freeze apologised for his actions saying that the mode of delivery of his preachings have since changed.
According to him, My attention has been drawn to a video I released circa, 2 years, seven months ago while addressing some pertinent issues that arose back then.
“I apologise for the delivery of my message and for my insult to Bishop David Oyedepo in that video as I didn’t in any way intend to dishonour, disrespect or disregard the person of the Bishop.
“The perceived intention to the contrary is regretted. My methods of addressing doctrinal issues have long since devolved to a more scriptural and less confrontational approach.
“I was, and still, very passionate in my quest to address what I believe are unresolved doctrinal issues, however, from a more amiable perspective.”
Daddy Freeze said this in a video captioned:
However, I believe that a lot more can be achieved through love.
◄ John 2:17 ►
New Living Translation
Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: “Passion for God’s house will consume me.”
Daddy Freeze’s Post to Bishop Oyedepo that earned him the ire of the clergy:
Dear Bishop Oyedepo, submission goes both ways. It’s not reserved for women alone, rather both the husband and wife MUST submit to one another.
◄ Ephesians 5:21 ►
New International Version
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Now, let us always endeavor to quote scripture in context. We shouldn’t leave out the instruction given to the men, who must also be prepared to DIE for their wives like Christ died for the church, or is this because we live in a patriarchal and misogynistic society that we adopt one and leave out the other?
◄ Ephesians 5:25 ►
New Living Translation
For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.
Furthermore, men are instructed to love their wives as they love themselves, before they receive respect. If a man cheats on his wife, beats her or doesn’t take care of her financially, how can he disillusion himself into believing that he’d get submission and respect from her? 🤷♂️
◄ Ephesians 5:33 ►
New Living Translation
So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
