Veteran Nigerian musician and social media influencer, John Asiemo popularly known as Daddy Showkey, yesterday, returned to the single room where he was born and raised in Ajegunle aka AJ City.
Ajegunle is a popular slum in Lagos mostly inhabited by the Ijaw tribe from where Daddy Showkey hails.
It is also where many entertainers, footballers and artistes were born. Most of them started their careers on the dirty streets of the area amidst the many negative social lives and influences.
The singer while filming the room revealed that he lived in the room for years with his mother, and his brothers until he became famous.
He revealed that his very first hit song, ‘Dyna’ was shot in the room.
Daddy Showkey went on to disclose that, he still pays rent for the room and has been doing so for years, even though he has no idea who the current tenants are.
According to daddyshowkey “I took a visit to the house and the room I use to leave with my mother and my brothers you can’t believe I was born in house in this same room, I still retain the room, I still pay for the room till date I don’t even know who is leaving in the room today I have a lot of history in that house, oh my God “
