Funso Williams was reportedly assassinated on July 27, 2006 in connection to his governorship ambition.

In a reaction to the criticisms he got from some Nigerians accusing him of being against the Yoruba’s progress by his extensive viral exposé of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged drug deals in US, David Hundeyin noted that he has not in any way disrespected the Yorubas by carrying out his duties as an investigative journalist.

The erudite writer added in a tweet that the real enemies of the Yorubas are the suspected politicians behind the murder of Funso Williams in 2006 over his Governorship ambition.

Me doing my job is not disrespectful to the Yoruba people. Know what’s disrespectful to them?

Seeing Funşo Williams, a popular Yoruba politician murdered inside his home a few months to an election he was going to win. His killers are the biggest disrespecters of Yoruba people.”
