‘Timeless’, the much anticipated new album of superstar Afrobeat singer, Davido has hit a record 1 million views within 6 hours, after it was released today.
The album, was streamed 1 million times on Boomplay streaming platform within hours.
The album is also currently the No. 1 album on Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart, UK’s Top Albums Chart as well as in 17 other countries on Apple Music
Davido announced the release of the 17-track album on his social media pages in the early hours of Friday.
He talked about the process he went through from his previous album to the latest and also gave Chioma Rowland, his wife, a shout-out while appreciating his fans and people who ensured the completion of the project.
According to Davido, “At long last – WE are back. The journey from my last album to this album has been a whirlwind to say the least. I recall sitting & staring over the ocean not too long ago, wondering if I could get here again, after all I’ve been through… but with your love & support, we made it.”
Singles from the ‘Timeless’ album also topped Sierra Leone’s Apple Music Songs Chart, from number 1 to 17.
