More fatalities have been recorded at the site of the collapsed Ikoyi building as death toll rises from 22 recorded on Wednesday to 36 by Thursday morning.
The Federal Government gave the update through the Co-ordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the South West Region, Ibrahim Farinloye.
NEMA reports that 3 women and 33 men have been confirmed dead in the collapsed building. This brings the total deaths recorded so far to 36.
Farinloye added that 1 female and 8 males have been rescued so far by rescue operatives and stressed that the operation is continuing.
According to him, “Out of the survivors, we have 1 female and 8 male. Out of the dead, we have 3 female and 33 male dead bodies.
“Rescue work is still ongoing and more hands have joined the rescue team,” he added.
