Deji Adeyanju, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, has given an update on the arrest and detention of singer, Speed Darlington.
In a post shared on his X handle, Adeyanju stated that Darlington was arrested in Lagos last Friday, October 4 and whisked away to Abuja by the police following a petition from Burna Boy.
“We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then. Petition against him was written by Burna Boy we can confirm.”
He was arrested in Lagos and taken to Abuja over a video he made about an alleged relationship between Burna Boy and Diddy resulting in the former winning a Grammy award.
The petition might be connected with a video Speed Darlington published in September where he questioned Burna Boy’s s*xuality.
In the video, Speed Dalington said Burna Boy gained publicity in the US and was even nominated for a Grammy after he became close to embattled singer Diddy. He went on to ask if Burna Boy’s bum was greased with oil after he became close to Diddy.
