News - Women's Perspective

Journalist and Publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu has declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election.

Momodu, who joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in October 2021 made his ambition known while speaking to newsmen after meeting with the party Chairman, Senator Iyiocha Ayu in Abuja.

The former presidential candidate said he met with the PDP chairman at the party’s headquarters to present him with a letter of his interest to vie for the number 1 seat.

Speaking ahead of the campaigns, Momodu advised the PDP to be patient in choosing its presidential candidate and ensure that the person is qualified, competent and free of corruption.

The journalist noted that 2023 is very critical as it offers the opposition party (PDP) the opportunity to rescue Nigeria from the shackles of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Momodu emphasised that he is qualified to be the next president, the most prepared aspirant and has the competency to change the fortunes of the country.

He promised not to be intimidated by money bags whose “illegally acquired wealth has for many years done the country more harm than good.”

Dele Momodu was the candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP) in the 2011 presidential election when he contested and lost.

The election results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), showed that he polled 26,376 votes to rank 11th on the election table.
