Nollywood actor and politician, Desmond Elliot, has expressed appreciation to Surulere 1 constituency, for his victory at the just-concluded Lagos State House of Assembly election.
The campaign period was a very tense one for the lawmaker as Labour Party supporters popularly called ‘Obidients’ vowed to unseat him.
The LP supporters referenced Desmond’s role during the #EndSars and the call to regulate the social media space.
To curb their scary influence on the voters, thuggery, harassment and intimidation resulting voter aparthy characterised the voting process.
Opposition supporters kept away from polling stations while some of those bold enough to turn were molested.
Desmond eventually emerged victorious at the poll on Saturday.
In a post via Instagram on Sunday, Desmond Elliot commended other candidates for their youthful zeal during the campaign.
The lawmaker noted that he is willing to work with them and share ideas on how to make the Surulere constituency a better place.

“I’m glad for the youthful zest you put into the campaign. Please I am more than willing to work with you and share ideas on how to make our dear constituency a better place.
