Distraught family members of Squadron Leader Nurudeen Popoola of the Nigerian Air Force, abducted 7 weeks ago, have cried out for help as he remains in captivity.
Popoola was abducted along with his wife, Ganiyat Olawale-Popoola and Abdulmumuny Folaranmi around 1:00am on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
They were kidnapped from their residence located within the National Eye Centre Quarters, Mando, Kaduna.
The three victims are indigenes of Iseyin Local Government Area in Oyo State.
A family member told reporters on Friday: “They have not been released as of now. It is 7 weeks now that they were kidnapped.”
A cousin of the air force officer, Alhaji Olatunde Rafiu, who spoke with journalists recently, appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to ensure the release of the captives.
He said: “We are renewing our appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to help us do something within the little time left of the ultimatum given.”
